When you disembark from a Disney cruise, life is sad – very, very sad. But, when you extend your vacation by one night, you can gently help ease yourself back into the real world… I booked the Waldorf Astoria for a one-night stay after our seven-night Eastern Caribbean Disney cruise because our flight back home was the day after disembarkation. Rather than stay at an Orlando airport hotel, we wanted to check this place out. We were in for a treat!
Another year, another Disney cruise – that’s what I like to say! It was August 23, 2018, and time for my family of three to board our JetBlue flight to Orlando, Florida. Two days later, we would be back in heaven, boarding the Disney Fantasy, our third Disney cruise in less than three years.
Like many other women entering the later part of their 30’s, I found myself drawn to running. The pounding of my feet, the breeze in my face, my favorite tunes blasting in my ears…all did something to clear this foggy brain of mine. The stress just seemed to melt away as the miles ticked on.
The Four Seasons Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort is located in the Disney Springs area and is closest to Epcot (of all four Walt Disney World Parks). We stayed at this hotel for the fourth time in August 2018, prior to our seven-night Eastern Caribbean Disney Cruise. The Four Seasons Orlando is absolutely my favorite hotel ever! An oasis just minutes from downtown Miami, the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is a beautiful place in which to linger and imagine what life must have been like in the early 20th century, when the villa was built. James Deering had the Vizcaya Villa built for himself between 1914 and 1922. The villa’s architecture reflects an elegant (and glamorous) Mediterranean Revival style, and the extensive adjacent gardens exhibits a stunning Italian Renaissance style.
