When I sailed on Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas, I was reminded of just how much this ship changed the cruise industry and why it still deserves a closer look from today’s cruise travelers. The ship debuted in 2009, introducing a new vision for what a cruise ship could be. Rather than simply offering a place to sleep, dine, and enjoy a few onboard activities between ports, Oasis brought an entirely new vacation experience to sea. With distinct onboard neighborhoods, groundbreaking entertainment, adrenaline-pumping attractions, and spaces designed for both relaxation and connection, it helped redefine the modern mega-ship.
