The Walt Disney World Swan Reserve is the perfect hotel if you're seeking luxury at a great value and want to be well-positioned to visit the Disney parks. It's also a fantastic place to stay before or after a cruise from Port Canaveral. In fact, my family stayed for one night at this recently-built, modern hotel prior to our cruise on the Disney Wish. We loved our spacious suite and the serene ambiance of the hotel (we never found it to be crowded).

Club level rooms have exclusive access to the Veranda, a lounge and terrace on the top floor of the hotel. Food and beverages (including alcohol!) are offered all day long in this bright and airy space. The terrace is also the perfect place to watch Disneyland Park’s nightly fireworks, which we did one night of our stay during spring break 2022.

Idyllic rolling hills, farmland, and wineries abound in this bucolic landscape, where the Kennedy's and the Obama's have been known to frequent.
If there were ever a bad thing about a Disney cruise, it’s having to get off the ship. It’ even worse if you have to fly home on the same day. This time around we thought we’d soften the blow by staying an extra night in Orlando, which was a good decision on our part. For our previous Disney cruise on the Magic, we flew out on disembarkation day, and it was sooooooo depressing.

I booked the Waldorf Astoria for a one-night stay after our seven-night Eastern Caribbean Disney cruise because our flight back home was the day after disembarkation. Rather than stay at an Orlando airport hotel, we wanted to check this place out. We were in for a treat!
