Wadi Rum: Valley of the Moon in English. There’s no place like it in the world – at least, in this world. You’ve probably visited Wadi Rum in the movies. It’s often the site of Mars on the big screen (The Martian, for example). It’s played Jedha in Star Wars: Rogue One, a desert in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and, of course, itself in the epic Lawrence of Arabia. Even Disney has taken advantage of this epic landscape by filming Aladdin there.

Day 5 – St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands: Seven-Night Eastern Caribbean Cruise on the Disney Fantasy
Once again, it was an early morning for us. And, once again, we had pre-ordered room service breakfast the night before. After eating breakfast in our room, we were ready for our beach excursion to the famed Magen’s Bay, which you can read about here. After returning back to the ship, I hung out in the stateroom and slowly started getting ready for dinner, while my husband and son went on the Aquaduck (first time for my hubby).
Day 4 – British Virgin Islands & Pirate Night: Seven-Night Eastern Caribbean Cruise on the Disney Fantasy
This was the day that I had been waiting for since I booked this cruise: our first visit to the British Virgin Islands, specifically the Baths of Virgin Gorda. We were docked in Tortola, the first cruise ship to return to the British Virgin Islands since Hurricanes Irma and Maria, which hit a year prior to our arrival. I was hoping that our shore excursion to the neighboring island of Virgin Gorda would be the highlight of our trip (spoiler alert: it was!).
Purple Rain in San Miguel de Allende
I live in San Miguel de Allende, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in central Mexico. It’s so central that it is called the “Heart of Mexico.” Our town is known for its colonial heritage and being the birthplace of the Mexican Revolution. But, when springtime arrives, we’re better known for our trees – specifically, the jacaranda trees that grow throughout the city.
Day 3 – Day at Sea: Seven-Night Eastern Caribbean Cruise on the Disney Fantasy
Two straight days at sea! Like our first day at sea, I once again was going back and forth between Cabana’s, our stateroom, and the Concierge Lounge to create our own in-room breakfast buffet. And, once again, we ate while watching repeats of Mickey Mouse Shorts (and this pattern would repeat itself virtually every day of our cruise).
