Cozumel, Mexico, was one of the ports of call during our 5-night Western Caribbean Very Merrytime Cruise on the Disney Magic in December 2017. I was very excited that we would be traveling to Mexico on this cruise. I had visited Cozumel previously when I was a teenager, cruising with my family on-board a Holland America ship (this was way before Disney Cruise Line even existed!). During that visit, we tendered to Playa del Carmen and did a fantastic excursion to the Tulum Mayan ruins and Xel-Ha, a beautiful brackish water lagoon where we snorkeled. At the end of the excursion, we boarded the ship in Cozumel, where it had docked after dropping us off (and this was at night: it was quite a long day).

Cabana Life at Castaway Cay
As part of our 5-night Western Caribbean Very Merrytime Cruise on the Disney Magic in December 2017, our ship stopped off at Disney’s very own private island in the Bahamas: Castaway Cay. Of all cruise lines’ private islands in the Caribbean, Castaway Cay is unparalleled in the breadth of its beauty and the wide range of activities and amenities offered.
Disney Magic: Review of Cruise Ship Stateroom 8086 (Concierge One-Bedroom Suite)
I stayed in this stateroom on when my family sailed on the Disney Magic cruise ship during a Very Merrytime Cruise, December 24, 2017, through December 29, 2017. Room 8086 is a Category T One-Bedroom Suite with Verandah. It is towards the back of the ship (aft). In choosing this cabin for our cruise, I wanted a quiet location and plenty of space with the concierge level of service.
Disney for Dummies (a.k.a. Frazzled Parents)
I’m a world traveler. So, why have I been to Walt Disney World four times in the last three years??? Simple answer: I have the most highly energetic, loud, insane, maniacal seven-year old boy on this planet, so what better place on earth is there for a fantastic family vacation? Yes, it’s expensive. Yes, it’s crowded. And, yes, it (both the Disney parks and my son) completely exhausts you. But, as trite as it may sound, it truly is a magical place…you really will feel like a kid again, and your kid(s) will declare that you must book a return trip to the park stat (meaning, you better be planning your next trip literally right after you unlock your front door when you return back home).
