This was my fourth visit to the island of St. Thomas, although it was my first time via a Disney Cruise. For two of my previous visits, my family took cruise ship-sponsored tours to St. John’s Trunk Bay, similar to this tour offered by Disney Cruise Line. If you love to snorkel, this is a great tour. Trunk Bay is pretty spectacular. You don’t need to swim far to get to the reef from the beautiful beach. I even remember seeing a huge sting ray swim beneath me as I was swimming to the reef. During one of my other visits to St. Thomas, we did the famous (infamous?) Kon Tiki party boat tour (similar to this tour offered by Disney Cruise Line but without the beach stop). It was quite the booze cruise, with plenty of rum punch flowing and crazy dancing on the boat (limbo, anyone?)!

British Virgin Islands: The Baths of Virgin Gorda
I was super-excited to be visiting Virgin Gorda for our Disney Cruise Line (DCL) "Port Adventure" during our day on the island of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands (BVI). One of the primary reasons I booked an Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Disney Fantasy was to have the opportunity to visit the Baths, a very unique destination in the world. The Baths are located on Virgin Gorda, which is another island that comprises the BVI.
Disney Fantasy: Review of Cruise Ship Stateroom 11008 (Concierge One-Bedroom Suite)
Room 11008 is a Category T One-Bedroom Suite with Verandah. It is towards the front of the ship (forward). In choosing this cabin for our cruise, I wanted a quiet location and plenty of space with the concierge level of service. This stateroom fit the bill on both fronts. There are no other staterooms across from this cabin. We rarely heard any noise in the hallway or even from our next-door or upstairs neighbors.
Atlantis: Time for an Aquaventure and Cabana Life!
One of the most popular cruise destinations in the world is Nassau, Bahamas. I visited this cheery and sunny port for the first time in the summer of 1995 (during my college years!) with my parents, sister, and group of family and friends on a four-night Carnival cruise that originated out of Port Canaveral. We went on a ship-sponsored excursion to the Blue Lagoon Island (similar to Disney Cruise Line’s Blue Lagoon Island Beach Day). I really enjoyed the excursion to this idyllic island.
Mediterranean Elegance in Miami: Vizcaya Museum & Gardens
An oasis just minutes from downtown Miami, the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is a beautiful place in which to linger and imagine what life must have been like in the early 20th century, when the villa was built. James Deering had the Vizcaya Villa built for himself between 1914 and 1922. The villa’s architecture reflects an elegant (and glamorous) Mediterranean Revival style, and the extensive adjacent gardens exhibits a stunning Italian Renaissance style.
